As people of the past bedecked their Christmas trees, they would sometimes pretend the angel on top of the tree was the one doing the decorating. The angel who would wear this tulle-trimmed, metallic mini-dress would get on the angel dust on the 30th November, wake up late on the 1st and frantically throw neon streamers, pound shop tinsel and baubles in the shape of distraught vegetables at the tree in a manner 2019 calls 'maximalist'.
